Event Overview

 

The 2019 UCI BMX World Championships takes place between 23rd – 28th July 2019 at the impressive Huesden Zolder race circuit. Entries are expected to be incredible, with 3000+ riders expected over the course of 5 days of competition. The full race schedule will be announced once the entries have been confirmed, usually 2 weeks prior to the event.

Qualification Criteria

 

Rider must have finished in the top 16 of the 2018 Irish National Series in their age category and must hold a current Cycling Ireland license with Nationality Ireland stated on license.

 
 

Categories

 

Categories for Standard 20 Inch bicycles at the Challenge level

6.1.009. Within the competition speciality of BMX Race defined in article 6.1.007 for the Challenge level, the categories are as follows:

 

1. Boys – ages: 5-6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16; (11 categories)
2. Girls – ages: 5-7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16; (10 categories)
3. Men – ages: 17-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35 and over; (4 categories)
4. Women – ages: 17-24, 25 and Over. (2 categories).

Total: 27 categories.

Categories for Cruiser 24 Inch bicycles at the Challenge Level

6.1.011. Within the competition speciality of BMX Race defined in article 6.1.007 for the Challenge level, the categories are as follows:

 

1. Boys – ages: 12 and under, 13 and 14, 15 and 16; (3 categories)
2. Men – ages: 17-24, 25-29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45-49, 50 and over; (7 categories).

 

1. Girls – ages: 12 and under, 13 – 16; (2 categories)
2. Women – ages: 17-29, 30-39, 40 and over. (3 categories).

Total: 15 categories.

Jerseys

It is mandatory for all riders to wear the Cycling Ireland National Jersey.

Old design jerseys are not to be used and the new style jersey must be worn. You can purchase jerseys via Natalie@bmxireland.ie

Entry fee for all Challenge categories is €80 + €5 Application Fee
